Answers to frequently asked questions

Q. Is there any difference between Virtual Personal Training and having a personal trainer ?

A. No, the only difference is you do not have the face to face contact of the trainer there with you. The motivation and training will be the same.

Q. Is Virtual Personal Training suitable for everyone ?

A. If you lack any motivation then I would recemmend you don't do Virtual Personal Training. You need someone with you to push you hard.

Q. Is Virtual Personal Training just like personal training online ?

A. It is similar but the service i am providing is tailored to you from the information you give me. Some sites that offer personal training online, give you computer generated programs and they don't offer a way of contacting the instructor.

Q. Why would I benefit from a Personal Trainer ?

A. Sometimes it is hard to motivate ourselves to do what we know we should be doing. The benefit of a personal trainer is having someone there to make sure that you perform the activities correctly but they are also very important in being able to motivate you and ensure you get the most out of your workout. It is too easy to cheat when you are on your own, but not so easy with someone beside you coaxing you all the way.

Q. As a female, I am concerned that lifting weights will make me gain too much muscle. Is this true ?

A. This is a common myth. Basically you will NOT gain big muscles as females do not have enough of the hormone testosterone in the body, whereas men do - which is why they are naturally bigger. Bringing weights into your programme will help to prevent osteoporosis, increase your muscle tone, as well as helping to burn fat and increase your general strength to reduce your chance of injury.

Q. What methods of payment do you accept?

A. I accept cheques in the post or pay pal. If you pay by cheque then I will wait till it has cleared, then I will send you your program.

Q. What if I have a crisis and need to contact you urgently?

A. You will be able to contact me by e-mail, text and phone calls. During the week, you can contact me between 8am till 10pm and at the weekends 9am till 8pm.

Q. How do I subscribe?

A. There is no subscription to the site. Once you have paid for the month then I will send you a program.

Q. Do you give nutritional information as well as exercise information?

A. I can if you want me to provide nutritional guidance as well as exercise information.

Q. How long will it take to see results?

A. If you are training at present then you should see benefits in a couple of weeks. If you are starting exercise again after a long lay off then it will take around 6 to 8 weeks. This is all dependant on how hard you are training.

Q. What information do I need to provide?

A. I will be sending you a short questionnaire to fill out, this will provide me with information about you and what type of exercises you do at present and about your lifestyle.

Q. Is your service private and confidential?

A. Yes the service is private and confidential. As a member of REPS I can't discuss any personal details otherwise I am breaking my code of conduct.
